MR. MARYLAND U.S. UNITED PLATFORM
A SECOND LOOK AT OUR MENTALITY
Three Pillars: REunite, RElearn, REcap
REunite- Providing men with safe spaces to be RElearn- Unlearning bad behaviors and developing new normal REcap- Celebrating our community intentionally, recognizing those who have paved the way and those up and coming My Why: For some men, the first time they are ever celebrated is their own funeral. What is wrong with that picture? Everything! As a first-generation pageant contestant, I am ready to be that change the world needs. Throughout my life, I have always been placed in a box. Being placed in a box most of my life made me feel that my uniqueness was a curse but in reality it is a blessing. No human is one-dimensional. You can enjoy anime, play basketball, enjoy painting, and be a great cook. As the first-ever Mr. Maryland U.S. United, I am ready to rid the world of “boxes” and make the world a place where people can thrive and be their authentic self. |
"secure his crown" suicide prevention initiative
Every 26.2 seconds, someone attempts suicide in the United States. Every 10.9 minutes, someone dies by suicide in the United States. Did you know that males die almost four times as much as females do by suicide? As the first-ever Mr. Maryland U.S. United and suicide prevention trainer through the QPR Institute, it is goal to train as many people in suicide prevention. With my signature "Secure His Crown", my goal is to train at least 1,000 men on how to not only help others but help themselves. This interactive suicide prevention workshop teaches attendees how to detect the signs of suicide and how to get someone help.
